Chateaux Spencer la Pujade Accueil

HISTORY OF THE WINEYARD

Nestling in the middle of a sweeping 35-hectare circle, this estate, whose name, Château Spencer la Pujade, already has a worldwide reputation, draws its energy from its clay-limestone soils and very favourable microclimate.

As each plot has its own identity, our winemaker ferments each one separately before blending them with great affection to make the very best wines.

From growing grapes to maturing wines, winemaking at the Château would come to nothing without the human touch: gentle maceration and fermentation one after the other let the grapes express themselves fully.

Wine lovers can pick the right wine for their taste here, from our old Carignan’s effortless elegance, made as a varietal wine, to the two more sophisticated blended Corbières wines.
For our “Millésime,” the Château’s icon wine, ageing takes place for fifteen to eighteen months in oak casks sourced from the best forests in France and one of the most-sought after coopers, Seguin Moreau; these barrels will then be blended with loving care alongside Claude Gros, the estate’s consultant winemaker.

Whether easy-drinking wines or nectar for sipping, fine wine enthusiasts don’t trek across the Languedoc for nothing in search of pure pleasure.
